Native/adapted to North America from the transition zone north; adapted to cool and transitional regions; grows to 6'; very rhizomatous; especially well suited to poorly drained, wetland areas, tolerant of flooding, only moderate tolerance of drought conditions; very competitive.

Drill seeded to 1/4” – 3/4” deep at 5–10 pounds PLS/acre alone, or 3–5 pounds PLS/acre in mixture (use 50-100% more seed if broadcast seeding). 533,000 seeds/pound.

Germination in 21 days, late summer or dormant seeded.
