STEAK (Bred for Beef)Specifically designed for the beef producer, this multifoliolate (75% of plants expressing) responds particularly well to a 2-cut system, although it is suited to all types of management. Steak alfalfa is an improved forage quality type with higher pectin content (digestible cell walls), improved forage feed conversion and higher average daily gain, lower fibre content (lower NDF), and better fibre digestibility. It has an early fall dormancy with later flowering. |
