LEAFY SILAGE CORN

Leafy silage corn hybrids are bred and developed specifically for making more and better quality silage
while maintaining key agronomic characteristics such as standability. Leafy silage hybrids contain:
• Larger, softer kernels with more digestible endosperm (starch) and an increased ratio of floury to
vitreous starch resulting in an increase in available energy.
• Larger cobs to maintain a high ratio of grain: stover.
• Reduced lignin content to increase digestibility and intake but not sacrifice standability.
• Very tall hybrids with more leaves above the ear for increased yield.

PICKSEED Leafy Silage Corn Hybrids produce:
• Excellent silage yield per acre – 11.2% more yield
• Better digestibility - 7% higher
• More dry matter intake
• Increased Milk production – up to 5.8% more milk/acre
• Lower seeding rates are possible equaling reduced input expenses
