Protect Your Technologies
Practice Insect Resistance Management (IRM)
Preserve Herculex and YieldGard technologies and reduce thepotential risks of pest resistance by planting a refuge and
following all IRM requirements.

When Planting All YieldGard and Herculex I Hybrids:
• Refuge: Plant a minimum of 20% of your acres with non-Bt hybrids
• If planting your refuge in strips, use a minimum of four rows
per strip
• Never mix Bt and conventional seed
• Plant your refuge within 400 meters (1/4 mile) of the Bt hybrid

When planting YieldGard Corn Borer and Herculex I hybrids:
• Plant your refuge within 400 meters (1/4 mile) of the Bt hybrid
• Plant Bt and refuge hybrids of similar maturity and at the same time
• Do not use insecticides in the refuge to control European corn borer

When Planting YieldGard VT Triple hybrids:
• Plant your refuge adjacent to or within fields planted with Bt hybrids
• The refuge can be treated with insecticide to control corn rootworm
• Refuge and Bt planting areas should follow the same crop rotation plans
